HKS Super Sequential BOV

Test fitting the HKS Super Sequential Blow off valve The 750 turbo all stripped down

One of the things I had wanted to do since I got the bike was to install a blow off valve.  A BOV helps keep the turbo spinning when you let off the throttle.  Without one when you close the throttle the air will back up at the throttle body and then you'll hear a chatter as the air get pushed out the turbo.  This of course isn't very healthy for a turbo that is spinning at very high RPM's to have air push against it in the opposite direction.  So when you install a BOV what happens when you let of the throttle, the air escapes out the valve and the turbo is able to keep spinning.  Now when you get back on the throttle there will be much less lag since you don't have to spool up the turbo every time.

Not too hard to install.  How I did it was drilled a hole in the surge tank and found a plastic nipple that fit.  Used some O-ring and high temp sealant to make sure it was air tight.  The hardest part is shoehorning the surge tank with the nipple back into the bike.  As long as you have your materials together this can be done in an afternoon.
